Children's Liturgy Ministry

This ministry is offered during the Sunday 9am mass from mid-October to mid-June.

(This ministry breaks during holidays and over the summer months)

Children in  JK to Grade 2 are welcome to participate. The children are dismissed to participate in a celebration of the liturgy that is geared to their age and experience (see below for more details).

Children who are younger than JK age are welcome if they are accompanied by an adult.

The Shape of the Celebration:

We will offer this ministry on Sundays during the 9:00 am mass as long as we have sufficient trained leaders and teen volunteers on

hand to manage the liturgy.

Our liturgy is child friendly and introduces the children to the Gospel of the day, helping them to develop an

understanding of scripture that is age appropriate and easily understood.

We use interactive methods to involve the children in the telling of the Gospel and we follow a structured

format each week enabling children to follow along and participate fully.

Children are called to the steps of the sanctuary following the Greeting and are dismissed with the

leaders to the Children's Liturgy  for their special celebration.

Children return to the church during the Offertory - parents are asked to watch and guide their child back to the family pew.

                                                                                           Volunteers Needed:

We are always in need of adult and teen volunteers to assist this ministry.

The commitment is approximately one Sunday service every 4-6 weeks with very little preparation required as the planning and materials are all provided via the ministry.
