Bambinelli Sunday December 17th 2023

Each year in St. Peter's Square in Rome, the Pope gathers families and their infant Jesus figurine from their family nativity set, and bestows a special blessing to them. These figurines are lovingly referred to as Bambinellis. This is traditonally celebrated on the Third Sunday of Advent, known as  Gaudette Sunday.

Our parish will celebrate this blessing on Sunday December 17th following the 9am and 11am masses. Please bring your infant Jesus figurine (your Bambinelli) to mass, and following the mass gather at the steps of the sanctuary where the priest will bestow the blessing. Then take your Bambinelli home, put it in a gift box and wrap it. On Christmas, unwrap the gift and place the Bambinelli in the manger of your nativity creche.
